Empowering Social Service Workers: One Kenton Place

Our Social Service Worker (SSW) program addresses critical labor shortages by providing hands-on education. Through partnerships with institutions like One Kenton Place, students gain practical experience under expert guidance. Phuc and Bableen, two of our students currently placed on site have said that day to day, students get support and guidance staying focused and combining the concepts learned in college with the lessons learned in placement to succeed. Their strong foundational knowledge helps show the supervisors how confident and ready they are to succeed. Recent meetings between Ace Acumen board members and Racheli Balofsky – Director of Recreation at One Kenton Place – highlight our commitment to community collaboration. This real- world training equips graduates with essential skills and confidence for impactful careers in social services.

SSW Placement Visit at Ivan Franko Homes

The collaboration between Ivan Franko Homes (IFH) and St. Clair College at Ace Acumen Academy shines bright as key stakeholders converge for a productive meeting. Led by Board Members John Wu, President, Milly Li, Vice President, and Amit Jan, Vice President, alongside Ivan Franko Homes CEO Olya Vovnysh and Program Manager Natalia Razzaq, the gathering at IFH’s Mississauga location underscores the commitment to fostering positive student placement partnerships. The collaboration supports positive outcomes for students to gain valuable real-world experience that will enhance the achievement of their future career goals. Gratitude abounds as they express appreciation for the enduring collaboration between IFH and our college. Kiran Sharma, one of our current placement students on site, was recognized for her hard work and presented with the “Student of the Month” award, recognizing her for: her outstanding work, dedication, and efforts for the benefits of the seniors of Ivan Frank Homes in Mississauga.

Alumni Excel in FITT Exam, Earn Certification in IBM…

Ace Acumen alumni Dhwani, Gurmeet, and Jashanpreet, who completed the IBM Logistics Program in October 2023, have aced their FITT exams, becoming certified professionals. Congratulations to these dedicated individuals! This achievement is a testament to their hard work and perseverance. Cross Campus Badminton Tournament

Students gathered for a cross-campus college badminton tournament, bringing together players from Toronto, Mississauga and Brampton. Throughout the event, participants demonstrated their skills and sportsmanship in matches that held the attention of onlookers. With each game, the dedication and talent of the players were evident. The tournament was a reminder of the camaraderie and healthy competition that enriches campus life.

2024 Professional Development Meeting

At our recent professional development meeting, all staff came together to learn and grow as a team. The meeting provided an opportunity for everyone to share their knowledge and experiences, and to gain new insights into our industry. We engaged in a variety of activities and discussions that challenged us to think critically and creatively about our work. Overall, it was a productive and engaging experience that left us all feeling motivated and inspired to continue our professional growth.

SAI DHAM Food Bank Donation

Making an impact through compassion!

St. Clair College Alumni Association and Ace Acumen Academy joined forces to contribute towards the Sai Dham food bank, an essential resource for our community. Together we donated thirty thousand dollars. By donating to local food banks, we can alleviate hunger and create a brighter future for all.

Winter Clothing Drive

Mississauga & Brampton Campuses are making a difference this winter with their Winter 2024 Clothing Drive! From January 29th to 31st, our dedicated staff have generously donated warm clothing items to support students in need. Together, we ensure that every student stays warm and comfortable during the winter season. Spread the warmth and make a positive impact in our community today!
