International Women’s Day

Every March 8th, the world recognizes International Women’s Day. It’s a day to celebrate the accomplishments of women and recognize women’s social, economic, cultural and political achievements. In light of International Women’s Day, Mississauga Campus had hosted a “Women Empowerment Workshop” which explored topics such as female empowerment, the importance of sisterhood, but most importantly, raising awareness about women’s equality and inclusion. The workshop included activities, inspiring affirmations, open discussion and a self-care package with basic necessities that was provided to all attendees.

While women’s rights and gender equality are always important topics to learn about, days such as International Women’s Day are opportunities for more focused education and awareness.
